Recent Projects Supported by Woodlawn

 

The Woodlawn Foundation receives contributions and provides grants to nonprofit organizations that receive pastoral care from the Catholic Prelature of Opus Dei. The following projects are among the most recent in the United States to receive grants.

Renovations Begin at Chestnut Hill


Work has begun on a major expansion and renovation of the Chestnut Hill Center in Newton, MA. All major site plan approvals are in place, and construction permits have been issued and the foundation is being dug. Here is an architectural rendering of the finished project.

Funded by a grant from the Woodlawn Foundation, work is expected to be completed by 2013.

Expansion in Texas

A grant to Featherock Conference Center in Schulenburg, Texas, along with local capital gifts, has resulted in extensive new construction and renovation on the over 100 acre site. The new conference center open in June 2010.

This updated facility will ensure the continued growth of this conference center in the South Central United States.

 

 

 
Woodlawn Foundation supports projects across the United States and internationally that receive pastoral care from the Prelature of Opus Dei. These programs operate in local communities and benefit people from all walks of life.

 

Study Center Construction Closer to Completion in Darien,IL

Construction is moving forward for the new Darien Study Center, in Darien, IL, a southwest suburb of Chicago. A grant from the Woodlawn Foundation has assisted in the purchase of the land and the construction. The building is expected to be completed by December 2011.

 

 

New Roads and Fence Adds to Usability of Longlea Conference Center

Work is underway to upgrade facilities at the Longlea Conference Center in Culpeper, VA using a grant from the Woodlawn Foundation. A new road provides access for the administration of the facility.

A fence has also been have been added to enhance the usability of the over 800 acre property . Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Longlea hosts workshops and retreats.

New Men's Center Purchased in

Los Angeles

Helped by grants from the Woodlawn Foundation, a new men's center has been purchased in Los Angeles. The center, located near the Hancock and Windsor Park section of the city, will help keep pace with the expansion of activities in California.

Two Women's Centers Purchased in Los Angeles

Two new centers for women have been purchased in Los Angeles with help from a grant made by the Woodlawn Foundation. These centers are part of a new expansion in Southern California.
